Weiqiang Lin
Weiqiang LIN is a member of the steering committee. He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, NUS, with a specialised interest in air transport, logistics and the production of infrastructures. His work straddles between social-cultural geographical approaches (affect, materiality, practice, assemblage and food) and geopolitical ones (critical logistics, supply chain capitalism and territorial contestations). It is his belief that many aspects of contemporary life are shaped by mobilities, (air) transport, and their peculiar infrastructures. In extension of his longstanding fascination with airspace production in SEAsia, he recently embarked on a new project to trace the infrastructural underpinnings of the air logistics of food in Singapore and China (especially along new ‘OBOR’ corridors). He also has a cognate interest in migration infrastructures. Weiqiang was a recipient of the UK Commonwealth Scholarship from 2011 to 2014, and was an NUS Overseas Postdoctoral Fellow (tenable at the University of Toronto) in 2015. He is also a member of the editorial board of Mobilities.
