Zaal Andronikashvili

Zaal Andronikashvili is a research fellow at the Leibniz Center for Literary and Cultural Studies (ZfL) in Berlin and Professor at the Ilia State University, Tbilisi. He studied History and Philology in Tbilisi and Saarbrücken and completed his PhD at the Göttingen University (2005). His research interests include the Theory of Plot, cultural semantics of geographical spaces, metahistory of literature, cultural history of Georgia, Soviet history and culture. Currently, he coordinates the project “Batumi, Odessa, Trabzon: Cultural Semantics of the Black Sea from the Perspective of Eastern Port Cities” at the ZfL funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. His latest publication is Landna(h)me Georgien. Studien zur kulturellen Semantik (with Emzar Jgerenaia and Franziska Thun-Hohenstein, Berlin 2018).
