Susanne Frank is a Chair of Eastern Slavic Literatures and Cultures at the Institute for Slavic Studies at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin since 2010. She received her PhD in 1996 in Russian Literature and in 20014 her habilitation in Slavic and Comparative Literature. Professor Frank taught at the University of Konstanz and the University of Regensburg. Her extensive publication on East European Listerature includes: „Arctic Science and Fiction: The Fantastic Novel Sannikov’s Island by the Soviet Geologist Vladimir A. Obručev”, in: Northern Studies or The impact of “multinational Soviet literature” on post-Soviet literary developments, in: Smola, Kl./Uffelmann, D.
