Rajarshi Ghose

Rajarshi Ghose (PhD, University of Chicago, 2012), is Assistant Professor in History at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta (CSSSC). His academic interests include the study of medieval and modern South Asia with a focus of political, cultural, and economic histories. Recent publications include Islamic Law and Imperial Space: British India as domain of Islam, circa 1803-1870 in The Journal of Colonialsim and Colonial History. Rajarshi has presented papers at many venues including the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, North Eastern Hill University, and Tufts University, Medford. At CSSSC Rajarashi teaches Cultures of Postcoloniality, Vocabularies of Social Sciences, and Problems in Historical Writing and Method.
